Marian Guerra is a Senior Vice President on Kasirer’s nonprofits team, where she co-leads the nonprofit portfolio and oversees budget and legislative strategy for our over forty nonprofit clients.
Previously, Marian served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of Legislation and Budget for Council Member Chin. There, she oversaw the Council Member’s policy priorities, building coalitions to introduce and pass landmark legislation related to senior food access, age discrimination, affordable housing, and tenants’ rights. She also helped shape and advance City budget advocacy campaigns to secure millions of dollars of investments towards senior services.
Prior to joining the New York City Council, she worked in New American Leaders, where she developed and implemented trainings dedicated to recruiting progressive candidates of color in New York and states across the country to run for key seats and win, as well as supporting newly elected officials in need of guidance and mentorship.
Marian graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Political Science.

Marian was a 2022 and 2021 City & State “Power of Diversity: Asian 100” honoree and in 2022 was named among City & State’s “40 Under 40 Nonprofit Leaders.”
