Jacob Castermans: manager, business development & partnershipsAs Business Development & Partnerships Manager, Jacob plays a central role in the firm’s business development, communications, operations, and administration. In this capacity, he researches and identifies potential partnerships for the firm to explore and manages Kasirer’s relationship development strategy; he analyzes and researches regulatory, legislative, procurement and political trends to support firmwide; he crafts marketing materials and supports Kasirer’s communications strategy; and manages a variety of special projects determined by Kasirer leadership.

Jacob started at Kasirer in 2022 as a government relations intern, and primary responsibilities included working with the Kasirer Real Estate team conducting stakeholder research, monitoring City Council Committee, Community Board and CPC hearings, and helping with meeting preparations.

Previously, Jacob interned for Andrew Yang’s Humanity Forward, where he helped the team to launch a crowd-funded and decentralized lobby platform focused on advocating for the benefits of Web3. He also interned for the United Nations SDG World Tour, a 2-year world tour to raise awareness for the UN Sustainability Development Goals, where he assisted in a sustainability project to refit the world tour’s vessel: the Clipper Stad Amsterdam. Prior to that, he interned as a research editor for Argos, a Dutch Investigative Journalism Platform.

Jacob graduated from New York University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences with a Master of Arts in Political Science. He also holds Bachelor’s Degrees in International Relations and Political Philosophy and a Master of Arts in Political and Economic Philosophy from Leiden University, located in the Netherlands.

Jacob is originally from the Netherlands and chased his dream to live in New York by moving to the City in 2021.
