Alexa Miller: associate, nonprofitsAlexa is an Associate on Kasirer’s Nonprofits Team, where she supports clients’ budgetary, policy, and advocacy needs. Her responsibilities include interacting with the offices of elected and government officials, supporting the development of strategic plans, advising on the budget process, and monitoring and tracking legislation and policy proposals that impact the nonprofit sector.

Alexa’s career with Kasirer began as a Government Relations Intern, where she worked firmwide to support on a variety of deliverables, such as adding support to Kasirer’s nonprofit client portfolio; conducting business development research and supporting proposal writing; monitoring and analyzing City Council hearings; and supporting with budgetary and legislative analysis. In addition, as “Lead Intern,” she worked directly with Kasirer’s intern coordinators to manage the ten-person internship cohort.

Prior to Kasirer, Alexa worked at a public affairs firm focused on supporting New York State Assembly and Senate campaigns, and helping to drive diverse clients’ strategic communications strategy. She also has experience interning at the U.S. House of Representatives, a federal lobbying firm, and at Planned Parenthood Southeast Affiliates.

Alexa is pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration specializing in Social Impact, Innovation, and Investment at NYU Wagner. As part of her graduate experience, she collaborated with IBM to learn how social impact organizations can better integrate AI to serve their constituency, building a specialized background in AI for nonprofits. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and American studies from George Washington University.
