  • Alternate side parking will be suspended next week through July 19.

  • $10M in grants for community groups to promote and educate neighbors to get tested and engage with contact tracing.
  • New COVID-19 pop-up testing sites in Red Hook, Manhattan, and Co-Op City.

Governor’s Update

During the Governor’s press conference he announced,

  • Malls could reopen in Phase 4 regions with the necessary HVAC filtration system and measures in place.
  • All county fairs will be cancelled until further notice.
  • Airlines have agreed to manage tracking forms for those traveling from one of 19 states with high infection rates that the State has included on the travel advisory.
  • Plans for school reopening:
    • The State will release guidance on July 13.
    • Plans must be submitted to the State by July 31.
    • Decisions on reopening for each school district will be made between August 1 and 7.

  • The City’s schools reopening plan: a blended model of learning where students will have a mix of in-person and remote learning with students in school 2 or 3 days each week.

During the Mayor’s press conference he announced,

  • Childcare centers could open on July 13.
  • $157M will be invested to offer new, low-cost internet service for underserved New Yorkers.
  • The City will work with the State legislature to advocate for legislation to allow New York City to charge private internet utilities to use City streets and to pay for service in low-income neighborhoods.

  • The New York State Fair is cancelled.
  • Long Island is on track to enter Phase 4 of reopening on July 8.
Mayoral Update

During the Mayor’s press conference he announced,

  • Phase 3 of reopening will allow for 50,000 workers to return to work in New York City.
  • The launch of a Bar & Restaurant Education & Enforcement initiative, which includes the deployment of 700 City personnel to educate restaurant owners and inspect spaces in neighborhoods with the highest concentration of bars and restaurants in order to ensure compliance with all of the City’s social distancing rules and regulations.
