Richard David: associate vice president nonprofitsRichard joined Kasirer with over ten years of experience in government, politics and community advocacy to help nonprofits bolster their relationships with elected officials and access government resources.

Most recently, Richard was a Chief of Staff in the Office Organizational Effectiveness at the New York City Administration for Children’s Services, where he managed the creation of standard operating procedures for the agency’s contract managers and developed processes to enhance the agency’s relationship with providers.

Richard also served as an Executive Director at the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, overseeing the launch of the Commuter Benefits Law to ensure large employers offered their staff the opportunity to use pre-tax income for the cost of public transit to lower their federal tax obligation.

For eight years, Richard oversaw capital and discretionary projects between the City, nonprofits and corporations as a Vice President with the New York City Economic Development Corporation. He managed over 100 agreements that led to the construction of theaters, museums, health, senior and community centers that provide new and expanded programming to communities across the five boroughs.

Richard is currently a District Leader for New York State Assembly District 31. He was a Community Board Member for 10 years and co-founded a nonprofit that specializes in services, advocacy and cultural programming for Indo-Caribbean and South Asian residents.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Hunter College and a Master’s in Public Administration from New York University with a concentration in public and nonprofit management.
