Matt Viggiano: vice president, real estateMatt joined Kasirer with fifteen years of experience working in City government and extensively on projects navigating the City’s Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP), Landmarks, and Special Permit approval processes.

Most recently, Matt served as Press Secretary for the Mayor’s Office of Housing Recovery Operations where he managed media relations, advanced interagency community engagement, and worked closely with the City Hall Press Office. Previously, he served in the Economic and Community Development Division under City Council Speaker Mark-Viverito where he worked with Brooklyn and Bronx Council Members to identify opportunities for affordable housing development on City owned property.

Matt has also represented three Council Members—Alan J. Gerson, Margaret Chin, and Rosie Mendez—overseeing discretionary land use approvals for the districts he represented after serving as a community liaison then Chief of Staff in State Senator Martin Connor’s Office.

Matt has helped to create hundreds of units of affordable housing, preserved hundreds more by working with developers and agencies to secure property tax abatements, and has worked closely with community boards and nonprofit organizations to build consensus around projects. He has initiated community planning processes and successfully built bridges between public and private sector stakeholders.
